‘The future belongs to those who learn more skills – essential and relevant skills ’
Don’t you feel that the present education system measures talent by the grades of the students? It is not uncommon to consider a student fetching over 90% marks as “brilliant” while those getting average marks are considered weaklings with no substantial future. Today, too many schools “teach to the test”.
Schools receive their funding and recognition based on grade averages, and those are determined by standardized tests. So most education institutions teach the exact information that will show up on these tests. Students are learning facts, but they are not learning how to actually think.
A lot of other parents I talked to were also of the same opinion and were beginning to awaken to the reality that the kind of education their children were going through did not provide them with the tools to be able to feel comfortable in the world.
There are gaps and inadequacies that need to be filled and a balancing effort is required .This is where future skills come in ! Future skills are these essential and relevant in-demand skills that will help you succeed in the real world. Don’t get me wrong , these are not only futuristic sounding skills like A.I, M.L etc, future skills are a lot more than that.
Don’t be surprised when companies like Google do not even list what you will learn in school and college as a top skill. There are now reports confirming that the key skills required by top companies are skills like problem solving , critical thinking , teamwork..etc.

Future Skills are going to be abilities that enable you to solve complicated problems in highly emergent action situations in a self-organized manner and to act (successfully). They are value-based and are based on cognitive, motivational, volitional, and social resources.
What is the purpose of it?
Before I respond, I’d like to ask you a question. Do you believe that what we learn in schools and colleges is sufficient to help us find a good career or start our own business in the real world? The answer is probably no, or you are atleast second guessing yourself . This is why future skills are required to bridge the industry-academic talent gap and help students keep pace with the emerging technologies and also building character.
Where can you learn future skills ?
There are plenty of options out there. You would normally find education platforms either teaching hard skills or soft skills. Not many have put it all together as a complete offering.
